I am a native of South Lake Tahoe and have lived in Nevada since 1996. I formed PxJS as my big “pandemic project.” Quarantine was the time to seriously reflect on my future as an artist and where to invest my focus, time, and energy. The three areas that bubbled to the top are photography, drawing, and custom pet portraits.
My story has not been overnight success but rather years of determination, passion, and risks to come to this place.
I began drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil and it came very naturally. My artistic goals evolved into becoming a well-rounded artist and to be more aware of what I was lacking and how to improve and grow. I studied illustration at my dream school, the graduate school at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My eyes were opened and challenged on so many levels. At long last laid down the building blocks to draw with conscious knowledge rather than a gut feeling of “it just looks right."
I don't seem to possess a particular style and you'll see a great variety. I love to experiment with media, color, shape and the look.
Since then, my artwork has matured and my enjoyment of artistic expression deepened and spilled over into my existing skills as a videographer, outdoor photographer, and graphic artist. I look forward to where this new direction will take me.
